Assault with a Weapon

On April 13, 2021 at approximately 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault.  The 30-year-old male suspect struck the victim with a baseball bat in a residence.  The victim was able to flee to a neighbour’s home for assistance.

The victim was transported by ambulance to BRHC and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court this morning on a charge of Assault with a Weapon.

 

Theft Under $5000

On April 13, 2021, police responded to a report of theft of merchandise by two suspects from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave.  The suspects left the business and were located by police nearby where they were arrested. 

A 19-year-old female will appear in court on June 21, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

The second suspect, a 29-year-old female was also arrested and found on possession of a can of bear mace.  She will appear in court on June 14, 2021 on charges of Theft Under $5000, Carry Concealed Weapon, and Possession of Weapon.

 

Theft Under $5000

On April 14, 2021, police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a business in the 800 block of 18th street N shortly before 10:00 am.  The 23-year-old male suspect was located and arrested a short distance away and in possession of the stolen merchandise.  The property was returned to the business.  The male will appear in court on May 25, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Theft Under $5000

On April 4, 2021, police received a report of theft of approximately $300 in merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave.  Video surveillance images assisted in identifying the suspect who was located and arrested on April 13, 2021.  The 23-year-old male was released to appear in court on May 27, 2021 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

On April 13, 2021, police responded to a report of an abandoned stolen vehicle in the 800 block of 24th street.  The vehicle, a 2004 grey Chevrolet Colorado with Manitoba license KPH 978, was reported stolen on March 17, 2021 from the 1000 block of 26th street.

Break and Enter to Garage

On April 13, 2021, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residential garage in the 100 block of 10th street E.  Suspects forced the door to gain entry between 2:30 pm on April 12 and the morning of April 13.  Nothing appears to be stolen at this time.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On April 13, 2021 shortly before 4:00 pm, police located a 23-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Attend.  She was arrested and released to appear in court on May 25, 2021. 

In her company was a 36-year-old male who was under the influence of illicit drugs in spite of a court order preventing him from doing so.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On April 13, 2021 shortly before 8:00 pm, a 37-year-old male attended to Brandon Police Service and passed out in the lobby due to his alcohol consumption.  He was on conditions not to consume.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released when sober to appear in court on June 14, 2021.

 

Breach of Peace

On April 14, 2021 shortly before 5:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing problems in the 100 block of McTavish Ave by being physically aggressive towards others.  To prevent the situation from escalating, the male was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
