Refuse ASD/Assault Peace Officer

On April 7, 2022, at approximately 10:00 pm, police observed a vehicle collision in the 700 block of 6th street.  The suspect vehicle had rear ended a taxi.  There were no injuries as a result of the accident.

Police had reason to believe that the driver of the suspect vehicle had consumed alcohol; however, the 31-year-old female driver refused to provide a sample of her breath.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.

While at Brandon Police Service, the female suspect became combative and assaulted two officers by pushing them and spitting on them.

She will be released to appear in court on May 30, 2022 on charges of Refuse to Provide Sample with Demand and Assault Peace officer X2.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On April 8, 2022, shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of a fight at a residence.  By the time police arrived to the home, none of the individuals involved had any complaint and the fight was over.  One of the individuals at the residence was found to be wanted on outstanding charges.  The 28-year-old male was also to abide by a curfew.  Following his arrest, he was released and will appear in court on May 26, 2022 on charges of Fail to comply with Undertaking X2.

 

Breach of Peace

On April 7, 2022, shortly after 6:00 pm police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in the 100 block of McTavish Ave E.  The 27-year-old was under the influence of Meth, in no condition to care for herself and she had nowhere to go.  She was lodged at Brandon Police service until sober.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On April 7, 2022 at 7:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female causing problems at a residence before passing out in the bathroom.  The female had worn out her welcome with the homeowners.  Police learned that the 35-year-old was to abide by conditions not to consume alcohol. She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on June 6, 2022.

 

Breach of Peace

On April 7, 2022, police responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance at a business in the 1500 block of 18th street at approximately 10:00 am.  The 20-year-old suspect was yelling at strangers in a threatening manner.  They were arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent their behavior from escalating.
