Break Enter and Theft

At approx. 9:00 AM Friday a resident in the 700 block of 22nd St reported his detached garage was broken into overnight. Entry to the garage was gained by forcing the man door.  Once inside the suspect(s) stole a Cannondale bike, a Stanley ratchet, assorted air tools and other tools.  The bike was later located at a business in the area of 26th St and Willowdale.  The tools were all located in the back lane of the 800 block of 23rd St.  The incident is still under investigation.   

 Break and Enter

At 10:00 AM Friday a resident of the 600 block of 23rd St reported his detached garage had been broken into overnight.  Entry appears to have been gained by cutting a padlock on the man door.  Nothing appears to have been stolen, although numerous items had been placed by the door. It is possible that the suspect(s) were scared of by something prior to the theft being completed.

Domestic Assault

At approx. 3:00 PM Friday, police attended to the 1700 block of Middleton Ave for a disturbance.  Upon arrival, it was learned that a 40-year-old male had assaulted his girlfriend by punching her in the face.  The male is currently on a court order to have no communication with his girlfriend and not to consume alcohol.  He was arrested for domestic assault and failing to abide by those two conditions of a previous release.  He will appear in court later today.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 8:20 PM, officers observed an 18-year-old female known to them walking in the 2000 block of McDonald Ave.  The female ran when she saw police. Officers gave chase and located her at a residence in the area of 23rd and Stickney.  She was arrested n the strength of an outstanding warrant of arrest for charges including possession of a controlled substance for trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breach of probation, breach of undertaking and failing to attend court.   The accused female will appear in court later today.

Search Warrant Executed – Three Arrested

At approx. 10 PM Friday, members of the Operational Support and Crime Suppression Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of 9th St.  Members seized a small quantity of cocaine, $2500 in cash and items indicative of drug trafficking from the residence. A 40-year-old Brandon male was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession the proceeds of crime.  A 44-year-old Brandon female was also arrested for those same charges as well as breaching a release order. Both these accused were held in custody and will appear in court later today.   A second female, a 26 year old from Brandon was located at the residence and found to be the subject of a warrant for failing to comply with her probation order.   She was arrested and later released with a court date of June 3.

  • Three individuals were arrested and held at the Brandon Police Service over the last 24 hours under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act
  • Two individuals were arrested and held at the Brandon Police Service over the last 24 hours for breach of the peace.
