Public Forum on Proposed Budget

The City of Brandon would like to extend an invitation to all members of the public to attend an open discussion forum about the proposed 2012 budget on Monday, February 6th.

 

The forum will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Main Foyer of City Hall, prior to Council’s regular meeting. The regular meeting of Council will start promptly at 7:30 p.m.

 

The forum will consist of a brief overview of the current proposed budget and the budget reductions scenarios recently presented to City Council by City Administration. A question-and-answer period for the public will follow. Mayor and Councillors and City Administration will be on hand to answer questions.

 

All residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to relay to Mayor and Councillors their feedback on the budget prior to a special meeting of Council on Tuesday, February 7th, at which time budget reductions will be considered.

 

The February 7th special meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

 

It is open to the public who wish to view the proceedings, but will not include the opportunity for public presentations.
