Residential Snow Clearing Update For Jan. 7th

January 7, 2015

Brandon, MB - The City of Brandon's Streets and Roads Department is nearing completion of this week's residential snow clearing schedule.

Today, crews are focusing their efforts in the East End, from 17th Street East to First Street East, stretching from Van Horne Avenue East north over to Rosser Avenue East.

Overnight, graders will be in the area from 1st Street to 18th Street, from College Avenue to Victoria Avenue. They’ll also be working in the area between 18th Street and 26th Street, from Victoria Avenue north to Rosser Avenue.

Numerous areas in the City’s core between 1st Street and 18th Street have already been signed with temporary “No Parking” signs, and beginning 6 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 8), snow clearing crews will converge on those areas.

Residents and motorists are reminded that as per the City of Brandon’s Traffic By-law No. 5463 (Part 3, Section 37), vehicles that remain parked in signed areas may be ticketed and/or towed at their own expense.

Weather-permitting and barring any mechanical breakdowns, crews anticipate majority completion of this week’s City-wide snow clearing campaign by Friday. Streets that could not be plowed during this week’s operations have been noted and will be addressed as time permits. If residents have questions about their street’s status, they are encouraged to call the City of Brandon Streets and Roads Department at 204-729-2285.

At this time, the City of Brandon would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation during this week’s efforts.
