May 8, 2015

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon Water Meter Department will soon begin its scheduled replacement of water meter transmitter batteries in Brandon. Such batteries typically need to be replaced once every 10 years and are done on a schedule, which is maintained and coordinated by Department staff.

Beginning Monday, May 11th, a staff member from the Water Meter Department will be working throughout the City performing water meter inspections and replacing water meter transmitter batteries that are due for replacement at the time of inspection. Scheduled replacements in this calendar year are fairly widespread in their locations.

Battery replacements will be conducted by City staff Monday to Friday between the hours of 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. Entrance to your residence or business will be required and replacement of the battery takes approximately five minutes.

Residents are asked to cooperate with City staff completing this battery replacement program. All City staff will have proper identification clearly displayed prior to entering any house or business.

Should a resident have any concerns regarding this program or want to enquire about their water meter battery, they are asked to contact the City of Brandon’s Department of Public Works at 204-729-2290.
