Authorized Crews To Survey City of Brandon Sidewalks & Pathways in July

July 5, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Brandon’s Engineering Services Department wishes to inform the public that as part of its ongoing commitment to municipal asset management, a survey process will soon begin on the 246 kilometres of sidewalk and 54 kilometres of pathways under the City of Brandon’s care.

Contracted personnel from IMS Infrastructure Management Services will spend the next few weeks travelling along Brandon’s sidewalks and pathways using an all-terrain-vehicle equipped with GPS and camera technology in order to collect information on their respective condition. Data collected from this survey process will be entered into the City’s specialized Asset Management Planning software to help guide decisions regarding future sidewalk and pathway rehabilitations and replacements.

As sidewalks and pathways will remain open for public use during this survey process, motorists and pedestrians are asked to be aware that these ATV’s may be present and to use care and caution when meeting them.

The City of Brandon’s Engineering Services Department thanks all residents in advance for their patience and understanding while this necessary surveying takes place. For more information about this survey process, please call the City of Brandon’s Engineering Services Department at 204-729-2214.
