January 28, 2019

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brandon, MB – On behalf of the City of Brandon Corporation, Brandon City Manager/CAO Rod Sage is pleased to announce the appointment of City Engineer Patrick Pulak (P.Eng.) to the position of General Manager of Development Services for a one-year-term, effective Monday, January 28th, 2019. Pulak has been in the role of Acting General Manager of Development Services since August of 2018 and brings to the General Manager position more than 30 years engineering experience with the Corporation.

In the GM role, Pulak will still be responsible for his former duties and functions as the Director of Engineering Services while a review of the Department’s organizational structure is undertaken, while his City Engineer functions will be shared with the other three Engineers in the Department.

“We are fortunate to draw on Patrick’s leadership skills and abilities as he steps into this role with our Corporation,” Sage noted in announcing the appointment. “During the last number of months, Patrick has been ensuring the Development Services Division continued to provide excellent customer service and direction for our citizens and our business community. Now, this one-year term will be an opportunity for Patrick to truly showcase his leadership abilities in a GM capacity, as well as make decisions that will best grow the function of Development Services and will best move our community forward.”

Pulak began his career with the City of Brandon in 1988, working in various engineering capacities and progressive leadership roles for nearly 20 years before being promoted to Deputy Director of Engineering Services & Water Resources in 2007 and, later, to Director of Engineering Services and Water Resources and City Engineer in 2014. In 2017, as the result of restructuring within Development Services, Pulak’s title was then amended to Director of Engineering Services and City Engineer.

“I am excited to take on this new opportunity in my career,” Pulak said. “Drawing on my decades of experience working in the various areas within the Development Services portfolio, I plan to use that knowledge base as a means to proactively establish effective working relationships with the community to which we provide services.”
