City of Brandon To Begin Plowing Priority 1 Routes

November 28, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Brandon’s Streets & Roads section wishes to advise that beginning at midnight tonight (12 a.m. on Thursday, November 29th), crews will begin plowing “Priority 1” Routes in Brandon, which are those deemed to be arterial and collector routes across the City.

Beginning at midnight, plows will begin in the east end of the City and work their way west along Priority 1 Routes over the next day or so.

NO overnight parking bans will be in effect at this time, but may be implemented at a later date. For a better understanding of which municipal streets are deemed as Priority 1 Routes, all residents are encouraged to visit snowmap.brandon.ca and navigate through to the “Layers” function and then unselect all layers but the “Priority 1 – Routes” layer.

PLEASE NOTE, NO residential zone plowing is scheduled at this time, as there has not been enough snowfall to trigger a City-wide snow-clearing event. A comprehensive overview of the City of Brandon’s snow-clearing procedures can be found at http://www.brandon.ca/snow-removal.

The City of Brandon would also like to take this opportunity to remind the public that the following roadways within the City of Brandon are under provincial jurisdiction and are not cleared by City of Brandon crews:

  • 18th Street (from south to north)
  • Victoria Avenue from 1st Street to the most westerly City limits
  • 1st Street from Richmond Avenue to the most northerly City limits
  • Richmond Avenue from 18th Street to 65th Street East (PR 344)
  • Trans-Canada Highway (#1 Highway)
  • Grand Valley Road (PR 459)
  • Veterans Way (PR 457)
