East Industrial Development Strategy Public Open House - Thursday, March 22nd, 2018

March 16, 2018

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Brandon has recently completed a strategy to facilitate growth in Brandon’s east industrial area and is now inviting the public to attend a public brainstorming session on the evening of Thursday, March 22nd to learn about this vision for growth and provide feedback on how it can be made a reality.

The City of Brandon East Industrial Development Strategy has been developed by a consultant working with business stakeholders and City staff over the past several months and focuses on approximately 2,700 hectares of land in Brandon’s east industrial area. For those lands, the strategy identifies “growth nodes” and proposes the expansion of wastewater and water services to encourage development and growth, with the ultimate goal of attracting a wide range of industrial users by having a wide range of parcel sizes and servicing opportunities available for new industries and businesses.

All residents wishing to learn more about the strategy and share their feedback on what has been proposed are invited to attend a brainstorming session on Thursday, March 22nd, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Brandon Design Studio space at the A.R. McDiarmid Civic Complex (638 Princess Avenue, East Doors). Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to b.patten@brandon.ca.
