Applications Still Being Accepted For 2017 Water Filter Rebate Program

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon’s Development Services Division would like to remind the public it is still accepting applications from residents who pre-qualify for the City of Brandon 2017 Water Filter Rebate Program. The City of Brandon has established the Water Filter Rebate Program to assist properties impacted by lead water service connections or by tap water which may be above the national drinking water guidelines for lead concentrations.

The program is part of the City of Brandon’s Lead Water Services Strategy and provides a one-time rebate of up to $100 to assist eligible property owners/occupants in the purchase of an NSF-certified water filter for lead removal. The program is open for application by any City of Brandon property owners/occupants who meet the following criteria:

  • confirmation there is a lead service connection, OR
  • confirmation of test results which show lead at levels higher than national drinking water guidelines of 0.010 milligrams per litre (mg/L); AND
  • submission of a completed application form provided by the City of Brandon; AND
  • submission of the original receipt & packaging showing purchase of an NSF/ANSI-53 certified water filter

Completed application forms must then be submitted, either in person or by mail, with required documentation to: Water Filter Rebate Program, 638 Princess Avenue, Brandon, MB, R7A 0P3.

Eligible property owners or occupants are encouraged to take advantage of this intake process, as applications must be received by the City of Brandon no later than Dec. 15th, 2017.
