December 7, 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brandon, MB  – City of Brandon Streets & Roads Department crews remain on a 24-hour shift to finish off Priority Routes 3, 4, 5 & 6 today (Wednesday) and into Thursday morning. Priority Routes 1 & 2 were completed early Wednesday morning. To accommodate continued overnight snow plowing, a parking ban will be in effect along the below designated Snow Routes, beginning at midnight tonight (12 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8th) and ending at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec.8th.

The snow routes are:

•             Rosser Avenue from 18th Street to 34th Street (24:00 to 08:00)

•             Rosser Avenue East from 1st Street to 13th Street East (24:00 to 08:00)

•             Princess Avenue from 18th Street to Whillier Drive (24:00 to 08:00)

The City of Brandon Traffic By-Law No. 5463/16/87 allows for the establishment of parking restrictions upon Snow Routes.  It is an offence for any person to park or allow to remain parked any vehicle on a Snow Route where a parking restriction applies.

More information on residential street clearing will be available later this week. As always, the public is encouraged to visit the City of Brandon’s online snow-clearing map (http://gis.brandon.ca/snowclearing/) for up-to-date information on clearing progress and scheduling. For more information, residents may also call the City of Brandon Streets & Roads Department at 204-729-2290.
