The City of Brandon's Community Services Department would like to advise that Queen Elizabeth Park in the area of 26th Street and McDonald Avenue has been closed for the public’s safety this week to allow for proper clean-up of tree debris following last Friday’s windstorm. Barricades have been placed at the entrances to the park and all residents are asked to be respectful and stay away from the area until work is completed by Parks section staff later this week.
Residents are also being reminded that debris from private trees should NOT be piled on the boulevards or medians in anticipation of removal by Parks staff, and should be taken directly to the Eastview Landfill at 3300 Victoria Avenue East for proper disposal.
