Oct.5th Last Day Of 2014 Season At Wheat City Golf Course

September 30, 2014

Brandon, MB – There are just a few more days left to get your last swings in at the Wheat City Golf Course this year, as the 2014 season comes to a close at the end of this weekend.

Play on Holes 13 through 18 is available until end of day on Sunday, October 5th. Until then, golfers can play all day for a flat rate of $15!

This year proved to be an extremely challenging one for the course, as high spring water levels on the Assiniboine River delayed its full 18-hole opening by several weeks and was followed mere days later by unprecedented summer flooding, which forced the closure of all but 6 holes in early July.

However, all management and staff at the Wheat City Golf Course would like to extend their sincere thanks to the loyal golfers who continued to play the partial course through the summer and fall. The City of Brandon would also like to thank the Keystone Centre for its partnership in running the Snack Shack and Beverage Cart Service during the 2014 season.

The public is reminded that use of the course (hitting of balls anywhere on the course surface) after Oct.5th is strictly prohibited to ensure the safety of course staff and the public as the course is prepared for the winter.

Information about the course, Pro Shop and other amenities available at the Wheat City Golf Course & Recreation Centre can be found at www.wheatcitygolfcourse.ca.
