Message from His Worship Mayor Dave Burgess
Experiencing the sights and sounds of Brandon will prove that this is a city that offers the best place to live, work, and play. Living in Brandon offers a multitude of opportunities for business, recreation, and social activities for everyone, from the very young to our very valuable seniors. Our city is “on the move” with proactive plans for future development.
Great things are happening in Brandon: new Fire Hall, new Police Station, new bridges, new “Y” recreational facility, new businesses, new Skateboard Park, new educational opportunities, and a new recreation hub in Linden Lanes. The city will also be hosting special events such as the Olympic Torch Run, the Memorial Cup and the 2010 Homecoming. 2010 promises to be a year of excitement and anticipation in Brandon.
How often will I hear the Alerting Tone?
Regular Siren testing to take place the first Wednesday of each month at 4:40 PM.
To give everyone an opportunity to learn what the sirens sound like and to ensure the equipment remains in operating condition we will be conducting regular monthly tests of the siren system. Each test will begin and end with a public address announcement through the system. All sirens will be activated for 2 minutes followed by the Westminster Chime "All Clear" signal.
