Skating Oval Open as of December 23
Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon’s Community Services Department is pleased to announce that the skating oval is set to open this evening in its new location immediately west of the Community Services Complex on McGregor Avenue. However, the attached skating trails will not be open, as they have not yet been completed and may be unsafe for the public to enter. The public is asked to respect the barricades set up in the areas leading to the skating trails.
The public is encouraged to park in designated areas on McGregor Avenue or Hilton Avenue and walk into the oval area. No vehicles will be allowed in the direct area of the skating oval or the Power Smart Waterfall of Lights display.
There is a small warming shack which will be open for public use and fire pits and wood will also be available.
An interactive map of the skating oval can be viewed by visiting http://gis.brandon.ca/ and clicking on the Recreation button.
