Community Strategic Plan Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinator’s Roles and Responsibilities:
- Establish and carry out a communication plan to ensure that the community is provided with meaningful information related to the Strategic Plan and the activities of the group through various avenues, including the website;
- To coordinate, attend and participate in monthly meetings;
- Ensure contact is made with identified individuals and/ or organizations to provide them with necessary information and solicit their involvement with implementation;
- Assist committee’s with the recruitment / identification of potential individuals who would be an integral part of the planning process;
- Provide support to groups that are in need of assistance in any aspect of the planning or implementation process;
- Coordinate the funding allocation to the various sub-committees;
- Overall coordination of the Community Strategic Plan and how it relates to the City of Brandon
Implementation/ Leadership Committee Roles and Responsibilities:
- To attend and participate in the monthly implementation meetings;
- Represent the interest of the community or stakeholder group from which they were selected;
- Oversee the strategic planning process with respect to the evaluation of current strategies and future planning for their key area and to understand how they can compliment other areas of the plan;
- Communicate challenges and successes with the Community Strategic Plan Coordinator;
- Provide reports and updates on the community or stakeholder group of which they are a part of;
- Participate in an annual review to celebrate successes and set future direction;
- Review drafts of correspondence concerning the Community Strategic Plan and offer comments and/ or suggestions for change;
- Provide support, assistance and communication with one another;
- Identify potential individuals and organizations to serve as leaders for the implementation plan;
Committee Roles and Responsibilities:
- Attend group meetings and provide status reports;
- Assist with the recruitment of group members to implement tasks;
- Assist with the development of projects and tasks;
- Organize and chair group meetings;
- Oversee the coordination and development of subcommittees;
- Monitor groups progress and assist in keeping project(s) on schedule;
- Provide written reports and updates to the Community Strategic Plan Coordinator on the status of the group and its members;
- Coordinate the flow of information between group members (meeting minutes, agendas, etc.);
- Ensures there is representation from group on Implementation/ Leadership Committee.
