City and BPA Reach Tentative Contract Deal
The City of Brandon and the Brandon Police Association wish to announce that, after several weeks of bargaining, a tentative collective agreement between the two parties has been reached.
Representatives from the City of Brandon and the Brandon Police Association have met several times since November of 2011, working towards a collective bargaining agreement. A tentative agreement was reached on Friday, Jan.13th, 2012.
Special consideration and effort was made by both sides to address all issues, including wages. Issues other than wages were also given greater consideration during this round of bargaining in effort to relax the strain on the proposed 2012 City budget.
The tentative agreement will be taken back to the Association membership later this month and, subsequently, presented to City Council by the City’s personnel committee. As such, no details of the tentative settlement will be released at this time.
The Brandon Police Association currently represents 82 sworn members and 38 non-sworn members in the City of Brandon.
