Information Technology

The departments’ main purpose is to provide Information Technology and Communication (ICT) support to City of Brandon employees. We also provide a variety of services - some revenue generating- to the public. Our goal is to empower our people with the right technology.

We perform custom development of highly specialized applications and interfaces as well as look after over 34 websites and our social media presence. We maintain over 350 desktop computers and laptops on a complex Cisco based network of fibre optic cable and wireless links, with over 50 servers.

The I.T. Department looks after all software packages for the city, these include:

• Diamond our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
• CityWorks for asset management
• City View for permitting
• ESRI for mapping
• Class for recreational bookings
• Dispatch systems for Police, Fire, and Provincial 911
• Numerous other applications
