UPass - ACC & BU Students

Going to school this fall will be even easier for students at Brandon University and Assiniboine Community College as they will be able to board Brandon Transit buses simply by showing their Student Card.

Under the UPASS system, all ACC and BU Students enrolled in the 2011-2012 academic year will be able to board any Brandon Transit regular route bus at any time by showing their Student Card in lieu of fare payment. In exchange for this service, the ACC Student’s Association and the BU Students Union have negotiated separate all-inclusive fees which are remitted to Brandon Transit on a regular basis.

“As the first transit system in Manitoba to adopt a UPASS program, Brandon Transit is once again working toward the future.” states Timothy Sanderson, Director of Transportation Services for the City of Brandon. “ACC and BU students now have additional reason to leave their cars behind and experience the convenience and environmental benefits of public transit.”

In addition to the UPASS program, on September 6, Brandon Transit will also commence operating a new bus route to the ACC North Hill Campus from the Downtown Bus Mall. This route runs every thirty minutes from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM and 3:00PM to 5:30PM every weekday, not including statutory holidays. Although designed to service the ACC North Hill campus, the general public are welcome on board as well.

Should students be interested in receiving more information, they are encouraged to call the Transit information booth at 729-2300.
